PANews, June 23 – According to Vitalik Buterin, the Ethereum Foundation (EF) will cut its budget by approximately 40% this year. Under its previously announced fiscal management plan, the EF is transitioning from a model of spending about 15% of its remaining funds annually to spending about 5% per year after 2030, evolving into a long-term-oriented grant-making organization. To achieve this, the EF will adjust its multi-client approach, rely more on AI-assisted formal verification, and shift the PSE (Privacy & Scaling Explorations) team from “exploration” toward focused development around zero-knowledge proofs. Devcon events will be scaled down in size and losses, large-scale projects beyond Ethereum itself will be reduced, and the EF’s institutional work will concentrate on smaller-scale but replicable CROPS-friendly deployment cases.
