SecondFi: 374 addresses lost about 16 million ADA, affected users can submit compensation claims

PANews, June 24 – Cardano wallet service provider SecondFi announced that it has identified the root cause of the recent security incident and deployed patches for unaffected wallets, with normal operations set to resume soon. SecondFi disclosed that a total of four fund transfer events occurred during the incident, three of which were carried out by external attackers, resulting in approximately 16 million ADA being transferred out from 374 addresses. To mitigate further losses during the ongoing attack, SecondFi initiated an emergency transfer, moving approximately 129 million ADA to an independent third-party custodian for safekeeping, and engaged an external accounting firm to conduct a special audit, so that assets can later be reconciled and returned to the affected addresses. SecondFi advises that affected users should submit claims through the official website support page and should not import their seed phrases into other Cardano wallets at this time, as the security risk exists at the address and signature level.
