PANews reported on February 12 that Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett cited three people familiar with the matter as saying that US President Trump has selected Brian Quintenz as the official chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Quintenz is currently the director of crypto policy at a16z and a former CFTC commissioner.

CFTC Acting Chairwoman Caroline Pham has congratulated Quintenz and said that he has promoted a number of important initiatives during his tenure as a CFTC commissioner and is expected to play a leading role in the field of encryption and innovation. The White House has not yet issued an official statement.
