PANews, June 17 – According to Jinshi reports, sources have revealed that the United States, Iran, and mediators are discussing moving the signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding, originally scheduled for Friday, to as early as Wednesday. If this arrangement proceeds, the memorandum of understanding will be signed electronically, the provisions concerning the Strait of Hormuz will take effect, and the United States will finally be able to release the text of the agreement. Sources indicated that the discussion to advance the signing is primarily aimed at allowing the Strait of Hormuz to reopen earlier than Friday, as both sides have already reached consensus on this issue. Another factor may be the political pressure the White House faces to release the text of the memorandum. Sources said that even if the signing time changes, the delegations from both countries will still meet as planned on Friday in Switzerland. They are expected to discuss launching negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. A senior U.S. government official previously stated that the agreement was signed electronically last Sunday by Trump, Vance, and Qalibaf. However, diplomatic sources said no such signing took place. Another informed source stated that the electronic signing has indeed been completed, and what follows will be a "second signing." It remains unclear why two signings are needed.
