New Jersey Democrats embrace crypto in hotly contested gubernatorial race

PANews reported on May 7 that some Democratic candidates in the New Jersey gubernatorial race are accepting cryptocurrencies, a strategy that helped Trump run for the US presidency. At least half of the six Democratic candidates have supported cryptocurrency-related work, including US Representative Mikie Sherrill, who was ahead in some polls in the primary. Sherrill publicly stated: "The crypto economy will not disappear, and we need more resources to regulate this field." Jersey Mayor Steve Fulop even promised that if elected, he would allocate part of the state pension fund to the Bitcoin ETF. On the eve of the primary on June 10, crypto policy became a key differentiating issue. A Rutgers University poll showed that one-third of voters have not yet determined who to support. Although traditional issues such as transportation and housing remain the focus, Fulop pointed out: "Democrats who refuse to understand crypto are being stupid - this is about winning over young voters." On the Republican side, Trump supporter Mario Kranjac said he would follow the direction of federal policy.
