PANews reported on January 15 that OpenAI announced the appointment of Adebayo "Bayo" Ogunlesi, an executive of investment company BlackRock, as a member of the board of directors. Ogunlesi is currently a senior managing director of BlackRock and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, and has extensive experience in global organizational management. He has held several senior positions at Credit Suisse and served as a legal assistant to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. His joining will strengthen the OpenAI board's capabilities in the fields of AI safety, cybersecurity, regulation and economics to promote the development of general artificial intelligence (AGI).
