CertiK: Hackers are frequently using AI deep fakes, malicious dApps and other social engineering methods to carry out precision phishing

PANews reported on April 2 that the 2025 Q1 security report released by CertiK showed that the Web3.0 field lost about $1.67 billion due to 197 security attacks this quarter, of which the Bybit exchange caused a single incident that caused a loss of $1.45 billion (accounting for 90%). In addition to huge single cases, high-frequency and low-loss attacks have become new risks: 15 private key leaks (US$140 million) and 81 phishing attacks (nearly US$16 million). CertiK emphasized that hackers are using social engineering methods such as AI deep fakes and malicious dApps to carry out precision phishing. Although the amount of a single attack is small, it has posed a systemic threat to user security.
