A new draft bill in Arizona proposes to exempt "virtual currencies" from property taxes.

PANews reported on January 27th that, according to Decrypt, the Arizona Senate Finance Committee passed draft bills SB1044 and SCR1003 on January 26th, 2026, aiming to exempt "virtual currencies" from property taxes. If SCR1003 passes the legislature, it will be put to a vote by voters in November to amend the constitution. This is a significant step by the state legislature to push for crypto-friendly policies, following Governor Hobbs's repeated vetoes of related bills in 2025.
