Spot gold and silver prices retreated slightly; gold had broken through $4,500 per ounce in early trading today.

PANews reported on January 7th that spot gold fell more than $20 in the short term, currently trading at $4472 per ounce. Spot silver retreated below $81 per ounce, down 0.35% on the day.

This morning, spot silver rose above $82 per ounce. Spot gold climbed to $4,500 per ounce in early trading on Wednesday, its first increase in over a week.
