PANews reported on December 4 that according to multiple media reports, South Korea's ruling party, the People Power Party, held an emergency meeting on the 4th to discuss response measures after President Yoon Seok-yeol announced the lifting of martial law.

Many participants said that they had "reached a certain consensus" on issues such as Yoon Seok-yeol's withdrawal from the party, the resignation of the entire cabinet, and the removal of the defense minister. Earlier, after Yoon Seok-yeol announced "emergency martial law", Han Dong-hoon, a representative of the ruling party in South Korea, said that the president's decision was wrong.
