PANews reported on January 22 that, according to a statement from the Senate Agriculture Committee, Chairman John Boozman released an updated text of legislation on the cryptocurrency market structure, proposing to grant the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) new authority to regulate digital commodities. This draft is a revision of the original bipartisan draft, incorporating feedback from various parties. Although it failed to reach a final consensus with the Democrats, Boozman emphasized that the legislative process will continue and he looks forward to the formal review meeting next Tuesday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
