The US Senate passed a spending bill that would fund most departments of the federal government.

PANews reported on January 31 that, according to CCTV News, the US Senate passed a spending bill on January 30 to fund most departments of the federal government and sent it to the House of Representatives for consideration. The operating funds for several US federal departments will run out on January 30. A spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated on January 29 that the Senate Democrats and Republicans had reached an agreement on the government funding bill to avoid a partial government shutdown. Schumer's spokesperson said the agreement includes advancing the government funding bill to fund most government departments for the remainder of the fiscal year, and providing two weeks of temporary funding for the Department of Homeland Security to allow both sides to continue negotiations on restrictions on the department's immigration enforcement actions.
