PANews reported on June 9 that according to Cointelegraph, Ethereum community member Eugenio Reggianini proposed a privacy roadmap, suggesting that the modular architecture and multiple privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) be used to achieve compatibility with the EU GDPR regulations. The proposal includes mechanisms such as transferring personal data to wallets and DApp edges, off-chain storage with metadata erasure, and encryption role separation to reduce the compliance burden of the main network while retaining the decentralized nature. Successful implementation depends on developer adoption and regulatory coordination.
