PANews reported on January 5th that, according to SoSoValue data, as of January 5th, 2025 (Eastern Time), the total net purchase of Bitcoin by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) last week was $567 million.
On January 4, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) announced an investment of $116 million to acquire 3 Bitcoins at $88,210 and 1,283 Bitcoins at $90,391, bringing its total holdings to 673,783 Bitcoins.
On December 30, Japanese listed company Metaplanet invested $451 million to acquire 4,279 Bitcoins at a price of $105,412 each, bringing its total holdings to 35,102 Bitcoins.
In addition, another company purchased Bitcoin last week. British Bitcoin Reserve BHODL announced on December 31st that it invested $90,000 to acquire one Bitcoin at a price of $88,965, bringing its total holdings to 158.2 Bitcoins.
As of press time, the total number of Bitcoins held by listed companies worldwide (excluding mining companies) is 923,680, with a current market value of approximately US$85.78 billion, accounting for 4.62% of the circulating market capitalization of Bitcoin.
