PANews reported on January 26th that, according to Cointelegraph, cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered a massive leak of 149 million user credentials stolen by malware, including login information for approximately 420,000 Binance accounts. This data breach was not caused by an attack on the exchange's system, but rather by user devices being infected with the "Infostealer" malware, affecting multiple platforms including Facebook, Gmail, and Netflix. This malware, disguised as a game plugin, has already impacted over 80 cryptocurrency exchanges. Binance has taken steps to reset passwords and monitor the dark web.
