Financial app Betterment sent suspicious notifications promising to "triple your cryptocurrency investment," but the app has clarified that these were unauthorized messages.

PANews reported on January 10th that, according to The Verge, a Reddit post showed that a financial app called Betterment sent users a suspicious notification asking them to send $10,000 to their Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrency wallets, promising to "triple your cryptocurrency." Betterment officials stated that this was an "unauthorized message" sent through a "third-party system," emphasizing that there was no such activity and advising users to ignore the notification.
