PANews reported on February 9 that Sebastian Siemiatkowski, co-founder and CEO of the well-known Swedish fintech company Klarna, tweeted that Klarna and individuals will "embrace cryptocurrencies." Klarna provides "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) services and currently has about 85 million users worldwide, a total transaction volume of up to US$100 billion, and cooperates with more than 500,000 merchants.

Earlier in 2021 , Klarna’s CEO expressed “deep concern” about posts promoting Bitcoin on Twitter.
