Anchorage CEO: Reports that the company is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are "complete nonsense"

PANews reported on May 15 that according to CoinDesk, Nathan McCauley, CEO of crypto bank Anchorage Digital, refuted reports that the company was under investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at the Consensus 2025 conference in Toronto, calling the relevant reports "pure nonsense." Earlier, Barron's reported that the DHS's anti-money laundering task force was contacting former employees of the company to understand its business operations. McCauley said that the company has verified through lawyers that there is no investigation.

Anchorage Digital is known for its strict compliance. In December last year, it obtained the BitLicense issued by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), which is one of the most difficult regulatory licenses to obtain in the crypto industry.
