US officials: The US has not yet formally agreed to extend the ceasefire agreement with Iran.

PANews reported on April 15 that a senior U.S. official stated that the United States has not yet formally agreed to extend the ceasefire agreement with Iran, although previous reports indicated that both sides had agreed in principle to extend the period to allow more time for negotiations. The official stated, "The United States has not formally agreed to extend the ceasefire agreement and is continuing to engage with Iran to push for an agreement." Sources familiar with the matter indicated that the option of extending the ceasefire is still under discussion, but the Trump administration is hoping to finalize a potential agreement as soon as possible.
