PANews reported on April 21 that Forbes released its eighth annual "AI 50" list, focusing on the world's most promising privately held AI companies. The list represents a total of approximately $305.6 billion in funding, with OpenAI and Anthropic accounting for about 80% of that total, raising $242.6 billion. OpenAI and Anthropic dominate the fields of general-purpose large models and code generation, respectively. The list includes model and application companies such as Physical Intelligence, Mistral, and Suno, as well as 20 new entrants including Reflection (valued at approximately $8 billion), an AI demonstration tool called Gamma, a drug discovery company, Chai Discovery, and Rogo, a data analytics platform for banks and investment institutions. A new sub-list, AI 50 Brink, focusing on early-stage startups, has also been added.
