PANews reported on May 1 that, according to Hong Kong media Ming Pao, payment giant Visa announced the launch of the Visa Agentic Ready global program in Hong Kong. This program will leverage its core network and combine tokenization technology, identity verification, risk management, and authorization mechanisms to support institutions in implementing AI-powered agent payments. The first batch of participating institutions reportedly includes Bank of China (Hong Kong), DBS Bank (Hong Kong), Hang Seng Bank, HSBC Hong Kong, Reap, Standard Chartered Hong Kong, and ZA Bank.
