PANews reported on May 6th that, according to Decrypt , Apple has agreed to pay $ 250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit. The plaintiffs alleged that Apple exaggerated the AI capabilities of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 when it released " Apple Intelligence , " but failed to launch these features on time, including key features such as " Enhanced Siri " and notification summaries. Some features were delayed or removed due to quality issues. The settlement covers approximately 36 million eligible iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 units sold in the U.S. between June 10 , 2024 , and March 29, 2025. Eligible users are expected to receive approximately $ 25 to $ 95 per device. Apple will notify affected users within 45 days after May 5th . Apple denies any wrongdoing, stating that the dispute only involves two additional features in " Apple Intelligence . "
