PANews reported on May 8th that the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Energy Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Data Administration jointly issued the "Action Plan on Promoting the Two-Way Empowerment of Artificial Intelligence and Energy." The plan proposes to initially establish a safe, green, and economical energy security system to support AI development by 2027 , and to achieve world-leading R&D and application of AI- specific technologies in the energy sector by 2030. Key aspects of the plan include: coordinating the layout of new energy bases and computing power hubs; exploring direct connections between nuclear power and hydrogen energy and computing facilities; promoting the increase of green electricity ratio and energy efficiency in computing facilities, and improving carbon emission accounting; achieving synergy between computing power and electricity through electricity market transactions; opening up high-value AI application scenarios such as power grids, coal, oil and gas, and energy storage; accelerating the development of large-scale energy models and the application of independent intelligent computing chips; and providing supporting measures in terms of standards, funding, and talent.
The National Development and Reform Commission and three other departments released an action plan for "Artificial Intelligence + Energy".
