Variant raises $220 million for its fund, betting on the era of AI and crypto-based "self-sustaining economies".

PANews reported on June 3rd that, according to Fortune, Variant, a venture capital firm focused on crypto, has completed fundraising for its new $222 million fund, Variant 4. The fund will invest in the earliest stages of projects, focusing on the theme of "autonomy" and the integration of AI and crypto applications. Partner Jesse Walden stated that the label of "crypto investor" will disappear in the future, and crypto will become a universal "underlying pipeline," much like internet infrastructure. The core of this will be to provide users and businesses with greater autonomy and security through decentralized and contract-secure architectures, supporting the development of applications including DeFi platforms Uniswap and Morpho.
