PANews reported on June 7th that, according to Xinhua News Agency citing the British newspaper Lloyd's Ship Daily, some ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are now paying over $100,000 per ship in exchange for Iranian passage permits, a significant decrease compared to the early stages of the conflict. The report, citing shipping security operators, stated that the maximum fee for a single passage for bulk carriers is currently $120,000, and for tankers, it can reach $160,000. The specific rate fluctuates depending on factors such as ship type, cargo, and shipowner's nationality, representing a significant decrease compared to the $1 million to $2 million per ship charged at the beginning of the conflict.
British media reports that Iran has significantly reduced its toll fees for passage through the Straits of Hormuz.
