PANews reported on June 12th that, according to Reuters citing sources, Nvidia has begun marketing its new Vera AI data center CPU to Chinese cloud vendors, stating that it could begin shipping as early as August and orders are now being accepted. Several Chinese customers have expressed interest, with one major cloud vendor planning to order over 300 servers equipped with dual Vera CPUs for testing before deciding on large-scale deployment. Vera is a standalone CPU based on the Arm architecture, targeting academia AI scenarios. Nvidia claims its performance is up to 1.8 times faster than competing products, with a single CPU priced "significantly higher" than $20,000, and a complete rack of 256 CPUs costing approximately $10 million. Nvidia expects Vera sales revenue to reach $20 billion this fiscal year.
