OpenAI will promote the development of standards for verifying the source of AI content and support the EU's guidelines for transparency in AI-generated content.

PANews reported on June 13 that OpenAI announced it will promote the development of AI content source verification standards and support the European Commission's "Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content," strengthening the source tracking and transparency of AI-generated content. It is understood that since 2024, OpenAI has incorporated C2PA metadata into its DALL·E 3 image generation tool to identify the source of AI-generated content. Since then, OpenAI has continuously improved its content tagging and detection technologies and launched public verification tools to help users determine whether images contain source signals related to OpenAI-generated content.
