Reuters: Zuckerberg admits mistakes in Meta's AI transition, promises no more large-scale layoffs this year.

PANews reported on June 14 that, according to Reuters, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees in an internal memo that the company made some mistakes in its transformation towards AI through layoffs and role changes. "Given the complexity of these changes, we have made some mistakes, and we will almost certainly make more," he added, adding that he is "committed to maintaining as much stability as possible in future organizational changes."

Meta laid off 10% of its workforce in May and reassigned 7,000 employees to AI-related jobs. Zuckerberg stated that Meta does not expect any further company-wide layoffs this year and will work to find new roles for employees reassigned to AI model training.
