PANews, June 24 – According to Le Figaro, French cryptocurrency platform Paymium has announced that it has obtained the official EU MiCA license issued by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), allowing it to continue offering crypto-asset trading services within the EU after the new regulations take effect. Founded in 2011, the company describes itself as the only platform operating a crypto-asset exchange in France, with over 230,000 global clients, including both individuals and institutions. The report notes that MiCA will be fully effective by the end of 2024, and platforms that have not obtained authorization from their national regulatory authorities before June 30 will be forced to cease operations. To date, only around 20 firms have been approved in France, approximately 50 have yet to submit applications, and about 200 firms across Europe have passed certification.
