Riot Games and AMD have signed a data center leasing agreement to expand capacity to up to 200MW, with the total contract value potentially reaching $1 billion.

PANews reported on January 16th that, according to GlobeNewswire, Riot Platforms announced the acquisition of 200 acres of land in Rockdale, Texas, for 1080 bitcoins (approximately $96 million) and signed a 10-year data center lease agreement with AMD. The initial deployment will cover 25MW of IT load, with contract revenue of $311 million. The agreement includes three 5-year renewal options and expansion rights; if fully implemented, the capacity will reach 200MW, with a total contract value of up to $1 billion.

Riot Platforms (RIOT.O) rose nearly 7% in pre-market trading.
