Nanyang Technological University has partnered with Zero Gravity (0G) to invest S$5 million in establishing a decentralized AI research center.

PANews reported on November 10th that, according to Chainwire, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and decentralized AI infrastructure company Zero Gravity (0G) announced a collaboration, investing S$5 million to jointly establish a decentralized AI technology research center. This collaboration aims to promote the development of blockchain-based AI technology and achieve more transparent, secure, and accessible AI systems.

This marks 0G's first collaboration with global universities, focusing on research areas including decentralized AI training, blockchain integration model alignment, and useful proof-of-work consensus mechanisms. The research center plans to support developers, institutions, and the community in collaborative participation, verification, and auditing through an open ecosystem, thereby driving the shift of AI from a traditional closed model to an open and transparent one.

The four-year project will include workshops, hackathons, student scholarships, and open-source projects, with early proof-of-concept expected to be released within two years, applicable to the financial, healthcare, and smart infrastructure sectors.

0G announced last year that it had secured over $325 million in funding commitments, including a $40 million seed round led by Hack VC . This collaboration further solidifies Singapore's position in open and trusted AI development, while laying the foundation for future international cooperation.
