TikTok officially announced its US plan: joint operation by the two companies, with ByteDance retaining intellectual property rights to the algorithm.

PANews reported on January 23 that, according to First Financial Daily, TikTok announced the establishment of TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC. This joint venture will be responsible for TikTok's data protection, algorithm security, content moderation, and software security in the United States. The announcement stated that in the TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, HKD 500, Silver Lake Capital, and MGX each hold 15% of the shares. Other investors include Vastmere Strategic Investment LLC (an affiliate of SIG International Group), Alpha Wave Partners, and several other companies. ByteDance retains a 19.9% ​​stake, remaining the largest single shareholder. The joint venture will be managed by a seven-member board of directors, including TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.
