PANews reported on October 20th that the Nikkei 225 index closed at 49,185.50 on Monday, October 20th, up 1,603.35 points, or 3.37%. South Korea's KOSPI index closed at 3,814.68 on Monday, October 20th, up 65.79 points, or 1.75%.
Japanese and South Korean stock indices closed higher, with the Nikkei 225 index rising more than 3%.
