Trump raises $274 million in campaign funds ahead of midterm elections, including donations from crypto industry

PANews reported on August 4th that billionaires Elon Musk and Jeff Yass, along with crypto industry donors, helped President Donald Trump raise $236 million for his political campaign in the first half of 2025, according to Bloomberg. Recent filings with the Federal Election Commission show that this fundraising effort included donations to three leadership political action committees, joint fundraising committees, and an allied super PAC, leaving Trump with $274 million in cash on hand. This represents a significant amount of campaign funds he can leverage for Republican House and Senate candidates in the midterm elections.

During the period, Trump's super PAC, MAGA Inc., raised $177 million. Foris DAX Inc., the parent company of the crypto exchange Crypto.com, donated $10 million, and Blockchain.com Inc. donated $5 million. Venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz each donated $3 million, while billionaire twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss combined for just over $2 million. MAGA Inc. also received a $5 million donation from Musk, a close ally of Trump.
