PANews reported on June 9 that according to CNBC, the biometric project World (formerly Worldcoin), co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, will start operations in London, UK on June 12, and plans to promote it to several other major cities in the UK in the coming months, including Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow. The project aims to use its Orb device to verify human identity and prevent fraudulent abuse of artificial intelligence systems such as deep fakes.
