French Senate approves 2025 budget including cryptocurrency taxation, pending vote in National Assembly

PANews reported on January 27 that according to Bitcoin News, the French Senate passed the 2025 budget, which includes a tax on "unproductive wealth" of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The tax will be levied annually on unrealized gains on crypto assets, which means that even if cryptocurrency holders do not sell their assets, they will be taxed. The proposal is currently awaiting a vote in the National Assembly.
