PANews reported on June 2 that according to an official announcement, the Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb announced that due to the recent increase in phishing attacks, it plans to redeploy the virtual asset withdrawal delay system on June 17, 2025. The withdrawal of virtual assets after the first Korean won deposit will be delayed by 72 hours, and the subsequent withdrawal of equivalent virtual assets recharged in Korean won will be delayed by 24 hours. Examples of the 24-hour withdrawal delay system are:
If you deposit another 2 million won to the existing 1 million won, for a total of 3 million won, you can only withdraw 1 million won of virtual assets every 24 hours;
If 2 million won is deposited and there is no previous balance in won, the withdrawal of virtual assets will be restricted for 24 hours, and the equivalent of 2 million won will be available for withdrawal after 24 hours.
