PANews reported on March 13 that sources said Iran has approved the Indian government's application to allow two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to sources, Iran has arranged special transport to repatriate approximately 180 Iranian sailors stationed in India. Most of these sailors will return by air from the southern Indian city of Kochi. The source also stated that Iran will simultaneously repatriate the remains of sailors killed after a US submarine sank an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan officials stated that of the approximately 130 crew members aboard the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena, about 32 were rescued and taken to hospital, while dozens remain missing.
