However, Trump extended the deadline by 20 hours on Sunday, posting a new deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern Time on his social media platform, "Truth Social." Trump told Axios on Sunday that the US is engaged in "deep negotiations" with Iran and that an agreement is possible before his deadline expires on Tuesday.
