Iranian officials say they will refuse a "temporary ceasefire" in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

PANews reported on April 6 that a senior Iranian official stated that Iran will not accept deadlines or external pressure to force a decision, and made it clear that it will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a "temporary ceasefire." The official also noted that Iran believes the United States is not currently prepared to achieve a permanent ceasefire.
