Trump said the US and Iran could reach an agreement within a week to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

PANews reported on June 2nd that, according to CCTV News, US President Trump stated on June 1st local time that he expects to reach an agreement with Iran "within the next week" to extend the current ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said the negotiations are progressing smoothly and expressed optimism about reaching an agreement.

Earlier today, Trump said on social media that negotiations with Iran are "moving rapidly."
