PANews reported on June 17 that, according to The Rage, the retrial date for Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm has been set. A U.S. court has approved the prosecution's pretrial schedule, confirming that the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York will retry Storm this fall on charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to violate sanctions. The court has not yet ruled on Storm's Rule 29 posttrial motion. This motion argues that the prosecution's evidence and charges are invalid and, if upheld, could overturn the undocumented money transfer conviction from last August and prevent a retrial.
A U.S. court has granted permission for a retrial in the case of Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm this fall.
