PANews, June 18 – According to CCTV News, the Ministry of Commerce and seven other departments issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of 'AI + Consumption'." Focusing on five areas including enhancing AI + goods consumption and expanding AI + services consumption, the document proposes 17 specific measures to promote AI into thousands of households and thousands of businesses, better meeting the people's needs for a better life. The "Opinions" work from both the supply and demand sides simultaneously, breaking through structural bottlenecks in the AI application process such as "products without a market" or "demand without supply."
In the field of goods consumption, the "Opinions" propose expanding the supply of smart terminals and promoting the transformation of consumer electronics from functional to intelligent. It lays out a new track for humanoid robot consumption, accelerating the penetration of robots from industrial scenarios to consumer scenarios. It establishes product debut platforms to facilitate new products reaching consumers. It creates a full-scenario interconnected ecosystem of "people, vehicles, and homes," and integrates AI with cutting-edge technologies such as brain-computer interfaces and augmented reality to research, develop, and launch a batch of internationally leading new products. In the field of services consumption, the "Opinions" also put forward a number of practical measures centered on five major scenarios: home living, elderly care, cultural tourism, accommodation and catering, and education. For example, it studies incorporating smart home and service applications into the "good housing" construction guidelines. It guides elderly care service institutions to use AI technology, deploy technical systems such as information management and smart security, and equip products like smart nursing robots and rehabilitation robots. It applies AI technology to enhance the convenience of hotel check-in services for overseas visitors.
