Colombia has called for a meeting of the United Nations and regional organizations to discuss the situation in Venezuela.

PANews reported on January 4 that, according to Xinhua News Agency, Angie Rodriguez, Chief of Staff of the Colombian Presidential Palace, announced on the evening of January 3 that Colombia had requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on January 5 and proposed a special meeting of the Standing Council of the Organization of American States to address the impact of the changing situation in Venezuela on regional stability.
