PANews reported on June 8 that according to Jinshi, people familiar with the matter revealed that Meta Platforms (META.O) is in talks to invest in artificial intelligence startup Scale AI. It is reported that the financing value may exceed US$10 billion, making it one of the largest private enterprise financing activities in history. People familiar with the matter said that the terms of the transaction have not yet been finalized and are still subject to change. Scale AI provides data labeling services to help companies train machine learning models and has become a major beneficiary of the generative artificial intelligence boom, with customers including Microsoft (MSFT.O) and OpenAI. The startup's last round of financing, which was valued at approximately US$14 billion, was in 2024, when a round of financing was supported by Meta and Microsoft. Earlier this year, media reports said that Scale AI was negotiating a US$25 billion acquisition offer.
