PANews, June 18 – Blockchain infrastructure provider Alchemy announced the launch of AgentCard, a virtual Visa card designed for AI agents. By integrating Visa Intelligent Commerce, it provides AI agents with an identity and payment solution for autonomous payments in the real world. AgentCard defaults to Visa tokenized card payments and, where supported by merchants, connects to crypto payments and "agent-native" payment protocols such as Coinbase-incubated x402 and the Stripe Machine Payments Protocol. Users can generate Visa payment tokens, dedicated email addresses, phone numbers, and crypto wallets for agents through a single API, and set risk control rules including merchant whitelists, per-transaction limits, and budgets. The payment path will automatically upgrade based on merchant and network adoption going forward.
