To celebrate its 13th anniversary, Gate launched the WCTC S8 Global Trading Competition, with a total prize pool of up to $8 million.

PANews reported on April 14th that digital asset trading platform Gate.io announced the return of its global trading tournament, WCTC Season 2026 (S8), to celebrate the brand's 13th anniversary. This year's tournament features a prize pool of up to $8 million and has undergone a multi-dimensional upgrade to its format, enhancing user engagement through richer interactive and incentive mechanisms.

According to official information, registration for the tournament will open on April 14th, with the official start on April 23rd. The tournament will last for 28 days and is open to users worldwide. In terms of gameplay, in addition to team and individual competitions, 1v1 battles and other formats will be added to further enrich the participation experience. The prize pool will be distributed based on the number of valid participants, and will be combined with new user benefits and various activity incentives.

It's worth noting that this year's competition has included some TradeFi transactions in its statistics, with related trading volume and returns also factored into the results. As the trading competition mechanism continues to upgrade, the platform's exploration of user interaction and operations is deepening, further enhancing user engagement and retention.

In addition, Gate will launch a number of offline events in Hong Kong during its 13th anniversary celebration, including the “GATE GALA 13” anniversary dinner at Rosewood Hong Kong on April 20, the “Gate 13 Blue Carpet Ceremony” and the unveiling of the F1 Red Bull team display car, and the “Racing the Future” outdoor exhibition at K11 MUSEA waterfront promenade from April 18 to 24.
