PANews reported on April 6 that according to Jinshi, US Secretary of Commerce Lutnick said that the tariffs (effective time) will not be delayed, the tariffs will take effect on April 9, and the tariffs will continue to be implemented in the coming days and weeks.

Separately, U.S. Treasury Secretary Jeff Bessant said there was "no reason" to expect Trump's tariffs to lead to a recession, and he downplayed the stock market decline as a "short-term" reaction.
