Trump nominates former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York; U.S. Treasury Secretary nomination may be announced as early as this week

PANews reported on November 15 that according to Jinshi, Trump nominated Jay Clayton, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission during his first term, as the federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York during his second term.

Separately, Key Square Group LP founder Scott Bessent, one of the top picks for Treasury secretary under Trump, praised the president-elect’s economic agenda as competition heats up for the upcoming Cabinet, arguing it will boost growth in all sectors of the economy. The nomination for Treasury secretary could be announced as early as this week.
