Trump formally nominates Paul Atkins as SEC chairman

PANews reported on December 5 that Republican President-elect Donald Trump formally nominated Paul Atkins as SEC Chairman. Trump said Atkins is a leader who supports common-sense regulation and is committed to building a strong and innovative capital market to meet investor needs and promote the development of the U.S. economy. He emphasized that Atkins recognizes the importance of digital assets and other innovative technologies to the future of the United States.

Paul Atkins is the founder and CEO of Patomak Global Partners. He has served as co-chairman of the Token Alliance of the Chamber of Digital Commerce since 2017 and has been deeply involved in the field of digital assets for a long time. Atkins served as a member of the SEC from 2002 to 2008, advocating transparency and investor protection. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law with a doctorate in law and also holds a degree with honors from Wofford College. Trump congratulated Atkins and his family and looked forward to their new development for the SEC.
